Claims to fame
I don't consider myself to be a climber, pilot, skier, snowboarder, cyclist, whatever.. Having had more or less success in these sports is just a result of a complete life in the mountains, and being inspired by nature and adventures.
My home is the valley of Rjukan, one of the best areas in Europe for ice climbing, and during the last two decades I have spent a ridiculous amount of time climbing frozen waterfalls. Occassionally I climb pretty well and this is probably why people bother to read my blog and visit this website once in a while. Thanks for that!
I have a family and a small company and l consider myself lucky to be able to live this life. Now, more than ever, it seems logic to simply have a good time and focus on the sports I do. Paragliding off a mountain, ice climbing with good friends, riding a mountain bike, skiing in perfect spring conditions or snowboarding with my sons.. It doesn't matter so much what I do, as long as it inspires me to do it again the next day.

Claims to fame
- First one in Scandinavia to climb M10 (right, those grades again..).
- Almost sent Rocky Horror Picture Show in The Cineplex. Spent 5(!!) days trying, thanks to Will for hours of belaying.
- Came up with the brilliant idea of anchoring Seth's truck with ice screws, in Eidfjord, to prevent it from sliding off the road.
- Have climbed some of the biggest ice routes in the world, and keep looking for bigger stuff.
- Became known as "Barfy" in Canmore, after a fundraising party. Almost got left dead drunk in the woods in god knows where. Thanks to EJ for saving me.
- Spent two weeks climbing ice in abandoned iron mines in Sweden, together with one of the best crews in the world. The film Ice Mines won awards at Banff Mountain Film Festival and was broadcast at Discovery.
- Once spent $340 US on one night in a hotel room in Mexico City.
- Landed a paraglider in a sewage canal in Valle De Bravo. Thanks to Keith for repacking my reserve.
- Used to have a big mohawk, punk style.
- Played guitar in a band (no you don't know the name of the band) that warmed up for The Sounds once, in Sweden.
